Our client, a highly respected national law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation legal assistant with Defense experience
The legal assistant needs to have a minimum of three (3) years insurance defense litigation experience.
This is a full-time permanent position and is on-site.
Responsibilities for the legal assistant
- Assists attorneys in all phases of the litigation discovery process; helping attorneys prepare for hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
- Provides direct support to attorneys, and will be asked to perform the following tasks:
- Assist with preparing pleadings and discovery for trial; coordinate the production of third party records;
- Prepare subpoenas in compliance with state and federal regulations;
- Trial preparation and assisting the paralegal with trial exhibits; analyze, review and organize privileged documents/data for document production and discovery responses;.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate must have an Associate's or bachelor’s degree
- Candidate will have at least three to five years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Qualified candidate should have excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including strong writing skills, ability to multi-task and work within deadlines, keen knowledge of e-discovery issues and familiarity with federal and state court/agency regulations.
- You must also be proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other office tools, including e-discovery software and document management platforms. Knowledge of the firm's document management program, iManage / FileSite, is a plus.
