Fast-growing insurance defense law firm with over two decades of continued service seeks an experienced defense attorney to join its Fort Lauderdale office.

Ideal candidates will have 4-10 years experience working insurance defense cases from inception to trial. This includes litigation in a variety of areas including premises liability, catastrophic injury, personal injury, product liability, construction defect and injury, public entity and civil rights, commercial auto and trucking cases among others.
Responsibilities:
- Managing caseload from inception to post-trial
- Attending court conferences, oral arguments, depositions, mediations, and trials
- Preparing pleadings, discovery/discovery responses, motions, and other litigation documents
- Preparing timely reports regarding case status and ongoing activities
- Ability to prioritize workload based on deadlines
- Communicating effectively with clients, senior attorneys and paralegals
- Meeting billing requirements – 2000 expected yearly
- Assist younger attorneys while acting as a mentor if needed
- Completing tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a member in good standing of the Florida bar, admission to federal district courts is a plus but not required
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to interact with attorneys, paralegals, court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, and office staff in a professional manner.
- Ability to delegate and prioritize as necessary.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be able to maintain the expected 2000 billable hours per year
- Knowledge of ProLaw and Acuity are a plus.
