Part-Time
Busy boutique Family Law firm with a focus on matrimonial matters is seeking two motivated, self-starting, highly experienced, divorce law paralegals who will work for the firm remotely starting on a part-time basis.
The paralegals, if qualified, will then transition into full-time based on performance and skill level after a probationary period of not less than three months.
The firm has offices in both the West Palm Beach and Orlando areas.
- One candidate will be highly knowledgeable about and responsible for cases filed in the greater Orlando area (Orange, Seminole, Osceola).
- One candidate will be highly knowledgeable about and responsible for cases filed in Palm Beach County.
Standard duties include:
- Litigation and case management
- Calendaring
- Preparing and reviewing financial affidavits
- Preparing mandatory disclosure for the client, and reviewing mandatory disclosure from the opposing party
- Preparing discovery requests outside of mandatory disclosure where appropriate
- Preparing equitable distribution spreadsheets
- Preparing mediation preparation summaries
- Preparing summaries prior to court hearings.
Qulafications:
- The ideal candidates should have three to five years’ paralegal experience in divorce law, and
- Previous experience with the above listed tasks
- Ultimately, will be capable of managing divorce cases autonomously
- Will have excellent communication skills with clients, opposing attorneys and their paralegals, judicial assistants, and other court offices and officials.
- The ability to draft and file motions, orders, and final judgments through the Florida e-portal filing system is essential.
- The ability to review the judicial rules of administration and local rules for each individual judge is also essential.
- The ability to perform and interpret legal research is a bonus.
