Plaintiff Medical Malpractice Paralegal (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Coral Gables, Florida
A highly regarded boutique plaintiff's law firm in Coral Gables is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join its team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced litigation environment and wants the potential to transition into a permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in all phases of plaintiff medical malpractice litigation
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, notices, discovery requests, and responses
- Organize and maintain case files, both electronic and physical
- Review, summarize, and manage medical records
- Coordinate expert witnesses and assist with expert disclosures
- Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial-related events
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and other litigation materials
- Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Monitor deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of plaintiff medical malpractice paralegal experience
- Strong knowledge of Florida state court procedures and deadlines
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records
- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent organizational, communication, and proofreading skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
- Trial preparation experience is highly preferred
