Junior Legal Assistant

A well-established law firm in Miami-Dade County is seeking a motivated Junior Legal Assistant to join its team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with some prior law firm experience who is looking to grow their legal career in either a litigation or transactional practice environment.
The firm is willing to train the right candidate who possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in the legal profession.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys and legal staff with day-to-day case and file management
- Prepare, format, proofread, and organize legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain electronic and physical client files
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, hearings, closings, and deadlines
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, vendors, and other third parties
- Assist with document collection, file organization, and administrative projects
- Monitor emails and help ensure timely follow-up on tasks and deadlines
- Support both litigation and transactional matters as needed
- Perform general administrative and office support functions
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Legal Secretary, or similar role preferred
- Exposure to litigation, real estate, corporate, estate planning, or other legal practice areas is a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn new software and legal procedures quickly
- Associate’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent legal experience preferred
