A well-established law firm is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Litigation Associate with 5–7 years of experience handling sophisticated litigation matters through the pretrial phase and into trial.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys strategic litigation work, and can independently manage complex cases while collaborating closely with senior attorneys and clients in a remote environment.
The practice includes a broad range of high-exposure matters involving business and contract disputes, commercial real estate litigation, trust and estate conflicts, and other complex civil litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage litigation matters from inception through trial preparation
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions, hearings, and court appearances
- Develop and implement litigation strategy in collaboration with partners and lead trial counsel
- Manage complex discovery processes, including document review, production, and analysis
- Prepare witnesses, exhibits, trial binders, and other materials for hearings, mediations, and trial
- Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
- Maintain direct client contact and provide strategic updates and legal guidance throughout the life of a case
- Work closely with attorneys and support staff to efficiently move matters toward resolution
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active Florida Bar membership in good standing
- 4–7 years of commercial litigation experience required
- Strong experience independently handling depositions, hearings, motion practice, and pretrial preparation
- Background handling complex business, contract, real estate, probate, trust, or similar commercial disputes preferred
- Excellent legal research, drafting, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
- Strong courtroom presence and advocacy abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters independently while also working collaboratively within a litigation team
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
