Attorney Job Description
Reputable law firm in West Palm Beach, Florida is seeking an Associate with 3-6+ years of business litigation experience.
The ideal incumbent will have experience that may include any of the following skill sets within Commercial Litigation including and not limited to Corporate & Tax, Land Use & Governmental, Litigation Dispute Resolution, Private Client Services and Real Estate.
Attorney Duties and Responsibilities
- Independently manage a litigation caseload working cases from inception through completion
- Handle court appearances and depositions
- Taking and depending depositions, handling substantive motion practice hearings in state and federal court, and preparing motions and legal memoranda.
- Filing motions
- Work on a wide variety of cases and possess exemplary communication and analytical skills
- Engaging in settlement negotiations
- Participation in the development of strategy for written and deposition discovery
- Represent clients in commercial litigation
- Assist with preparation for trials and evidentiary hearings
- Assist with matters from inception through trial
Attorney Requirements and Qualifications
- Attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple projects.
- Must possess an outstanding academic record (with a JD from an ABA accredited law school) and be a member of The Florida Bar.
- The ability to function both independently and within a team is essential.
- Must have 3-6+ years of experience in business and commercial litigation
- Ability to run litigation matters with minimal supervision
- Experience covering a wide variety of law matters on both the state and federal levels.
- Outstanding writing and legal research skills
- Experience drafting complaints, answers, motions, and other pleadings
