Attorney – Complex Commercial Litigation
Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Eligible candidates  will have a minimum of 3 years experience working with complex, high end commercial litigation cases. Excellent pretrial skills, including conducting and responding to discovery, legal research and writing, and significant experience preparing legal pleadings, motions, and mediation statements are required.

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida
  • 3+ years of experience litigating complex commercial and business disputes
  • Eligible Hybrid candidates MUST be within a commutable distance to the office
  • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have experience intaking, initiating, developing, and guiding commercial and business litigation matters from inception through trial.
  • Must have experience taking and defending depositions, preparing and handling evidentiary hearings, conducting mediations, and preparing and assisting with trial on behalf of business and corporate clients and their owners.

Responsibilities

  • Intake, review, and analyze client documents.
  • Research claims, defenses, legal issues.
  • Draft pleadings, demand letters and other technical legal correspondence, discovery, standard and substantive motions, mediation statements, legal memoranda, and trial preparation materials
  • Represent clients in court appearances, motion practice hearings, evidentiary hearings, and mediations.
  • Prepare clients and other witnesses for deposition and trial testimony.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Work directly with firm paralegals to conduct discovery including non-party discovery.
  • Guide clients by providing strategic direction on their cases, understanding their needs and wants, pivoting when needed, and keeping the client regularly informed about their matter.
  • Conduct trials with firm owner and managing attorney.
  • Delegate to, and effectively communicate with, the firm’s paralegals to efficiently move cases forward, meet all deadlines, and prepare cases for summary judgment and/or trial.
  • Provide the highest level of client service with excellence, competence, and integrity.
  • Represent the firm in the legal and business community, attend networking events, be active in the local bar association or client-specific industry groups.
