Litigation Associate – Fort Lauderdale, FL
Our client is a well-known defense firm specializing in medical malpractice/ healthcare, insurance defense, estate and family law.
They are looking for a highly skilled Litigation Associate to join their team and take on the exciting challenge of managing a substantial caseload. In this role you will handle cases with minimal supervision, have significant experience with the litigation process, handling discovery, motion practice and depositions. 4-5 years of experience or more desired. Experience in commercial litigation/ construction would be a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Motion and Discovery practice
- Manage cases from inception to close
- Engage in negotiations for settlements
- Carry out legal research
- Attend court hearings when required
- Conduct first meetings with potential clients
Requirements and Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Florida Bar
- Litigation experience (4-5 years)
- Insurance Defense experience
- Commercial litigation/ construction would be a plus not required
- Stable work history
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail
