LAW FIRM IS LOOKING FOR A BOOKKEEPER IN SOUTH PALM BEACH COUNTY.

The firm, located in Boynton Beach, Florida,  is a dynamic and growing plaintiff personal injury law firm dedicated to advocating for the rights of their clients. They are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join their team and manage the firm’s financial records with accuracy and integrity.
Responsibilities:
    •    Manage and maintain all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.

  • A/P
    • physical check payment to providers, as well as some ACH
    • creation of closing statement checks
    • create and upload positive pay file to financial institution
    • Periodic stop payment and reissue of checks
  • A/R –
    • journal entries in Quickbooks “QB” of received IOTA funds
    • Remote online deposit of funds into IOTA and OA accounts
    • Document completion of deposit in case management software 
  • Reconcile bank statements for Trust and Operating accounts, as well as two American Express

accounts in compliance with state bar regulations.
    •         Work with Paychex payroll system to upload files.

  • Enter biweekly 401(k) contributions

    •         Prepare financial statements, budgets, and reports for firm leadership.

  • Month end Trust and OA reports

    •    Track case costs and settlements, ensuring accurate allocation and reimbursement.

  • Journal entries into QB for all case costs including credit card purchases

    •         Oversee client trust accounts, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical requirements.
    •         Work closely with attorneys and staff to manage case-related expenses and billing.
    •         Assist in tax preparation and work with external accountants as needed.

Qualifications:
    •         Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a law firm or similar professional setting.
    •         Familiarity with trust accounting and compliance requirements.
    •         Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
    •         Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    •         Knowledge of plaintiff personal injury case processes and cost tracking is a plus.
    •         Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
    •         Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
