Our client, a highly respected national law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to start right away in a temporary-to-hire capacity, in the firm’s Tampa office.
The paralegal needs to have a minimum of three (3) years insurance defense litigation experience.
This is a full-time, on-site position.
Responsibilities:
- Assists attorneys in all phases of the litigation discovery process; helping attorneys prepare for hearings, arbitrations, and trials. Performs bates numbering and redacting, and e-files documents with various courts.
- Provides direct support to attorneys, and will be asked to perform the following tasks: prepare pleadings and discovery for trial; coordinate the production of third party records; prepare subpoenas in compliance with state and federal regulations; trial preparation and management of trial exhibits; analyze, review and organize privileged documents/data for document production and discovery responses; prepare wage and hour reports; assist with preparation of federal and state administration filings; draft investigative reports; conduct legal research using Westlaw, BNA, and other research tools, and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate.
- Candidate will have at least three to five years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Qualified candidate should have excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including strong writing skills, ability to multi-task and work within deadlines, keen knowledge of e-discovery issues and familiarity with state court/agency regulations.
- The litigation paralegal must also be proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other office tools, including e-discovery software and document management platforms. Knowledge of the firm’s document management program, iManage / FileSite, is a plus.
