Legal Search Solutions has partnered with a high-end boutique law firm in Fort Lauderdale to identify an experienced Legal Assistant to support its commercial bankruptcy and litigation practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a polished litigation legal assistant to join a sophisticated boutique practice handling Chapter 11 bankruptcy and related commercial matters. Prior bankruptcy experience is preferred but not required; the firm is open to candidates with a strong commercial litigation background who have the skills and experience to transition into the practice.
Position Overview
The Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters and related proceedings. The position requires someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing busy attorney calendars and deadline-driven matters.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, revise, and format correspondence, letters, pleadings, and other legal documents.

Calendar and monitor court deadlines, filing dates, hearings, and other critical dates.

Prepare engagement and retainer letters and assist with opening new matters.

Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, client meetings, and conferences.

Handle electronic filing of documents with federal and state courts.

Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure documents are properly saved and maintained.

Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other professionals.

Assist attorneys with hearing, deposition, and case preparation.

Manage attorney calendars and assist with day-to-day practice organization.

Provide additional administrative and litigation support as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Several years of legal assistant experience in a sophisticated litigation practice.

Chapter 11 or bankruptcy experience is preferred but not required.

Strong commercial litigation experience will be considered in lieu of bankruptcy-specific experience.

Experience with court filings, calendaring, hearing coordination, and litigation procedures.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

High level of attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
Compensation & Work Environment

Salary in the mid to high $70,000s, commensurate with experience.
